Fluker's Sun Glow Coil Bulb - Desert is a powerful, yet pet-safe fluorescent bulb designed specifically for desert based, diurnal reptiles and amphibians such as bearded dragons, monitors, tegus, uromastyx and more. The bulbs have a 10.0 UVB rating and have been engineered to ensure the produce UVB radiation is within the optimal 290-310 nm range, while simultaneously balancing the UVA levels to increase and encourage activity, reproduction and appetite. UVB is incredibly important to captive reptiles and amphibians as it helps to stimulate the production of vitamin D, which is essential in helping to prevent and fight against deadly metabolic bone disease. Research has also shown that this light benefits crepuscular and nocturnal species as well as live plants in terrariums and vivariums. There should be approximately 6" - 11" of space between the bulb and your pets basking area. The Sun Glow Coil Bulb produces 13 watts of power.
