The Aquatop CF-300 is an affordable, high-performance external canister filter designed for aquariums up to 75 gallons in size (264 gph). Equally effective in both freshwater and marine environments, it is capable of providing exceptional 3-stage filtration to maintain healthy, crystal clear aquarium water. The CF-300's intelligent design includes a self-priming pump that initiates the filter in seconds, while eliminating the need for unsavory mouth-priming. It also features an easy-to-use single valve to disconnect the inlet and outlet, adding convenience to your maintenance routine.
The CF-300 comes equipped with 3 large media trays, allowing you to customize the filter's media to suit the unique needs of your aquarium. For superior mechanical filtration, the CF-300 includes 3 fine white filter pads and 1 coarse blue filter pad. The fine filter pads "polish" your aquarium water by removing the smallest organic particulates, foreign debris, and excess food. The coarse filter pad captures and removes larger particles and debris, while helping to prevent filter clogging and media bypass. For effective biological filtration, add ceramic rings or bioballs to provide an ideal cultivation site for the propogation of beneficial bacteria. This helps keep the water free of toxic ammonia and nitrites by converting them into nitrates. Lastly, the addition of a high quality activated carbon will provide chemical filtration to remove discoloration, odors, and other fine impurities (biological and chemical filter media sold separately).
The CF-300 External Canister Filter comes complete with all the necessary plumbing and accessories required for installation and operation. It disassembles quickly and easily for regularly scheduled maintenance and filter media changes.
