Water circulation is an integral part of creating a thriving natural aquatic environment. The Coralife DC 2600 Variable Speed Wavemaker Kit continuously circulates water to simulate natural reef and river currents. It allows you to create customized water patterns that match the unique needs of your aquarium, while eliminating dead zones and improving overall water quality and coral health. The Kit contains two 7 watt/1300 gph DC powerheads with suction grip mounting bases, electronic controller with UL approved wiring harness, light sensor, complete instruction and setup guide, and a manufactuer limited lifetime warranty.
The electronic controller features 5 pre-programmed water flow modes:
Continuous Flow Mode - Adjust either pump to flow from 40 - 100% of maximum power to eliminate specific dead zones or create more current for coral health.
Tidal Mode - The two pumps are positioned at opposite ends of the aquarium. Pump 1 runs at maximum flow while pump 2 runs at low flow for 12-hour cycle. The two pumps then switch speeds after 12 hours so pump 1 runs at low flow, and pump 2 runs at maximum flow (simulating a natural tidal ocean current).
Turbulence Mode - Both pumps begin at the lowest flow settings and increase up to maximum flow, then power off for five seconds before repeating. The run time to get from the lowest to maximum flow can be adjusted from 10 - 60 seconds for each pump individually.
Continuous/Turbulence Mode - Pump 1 runs continuously from 40 - 100% of maximum power while pump 2 is in Turbulence Mode.
Night Mode - Pumps are automatically reduced to minimum power when aquarium lights are off (light sensor).
