The API SuperClean 5-20 Power Filter employs an advanced filtration system to deliver clean, crystal clear water. Equally capable in both freshwater and saltwater environments, it is packed with features designed to improve performance, simplify maintenance, and help you create a happier and healthier aquarium.
Dual Water Intake - this performance enhancing feature simultaneously draws water in from just below the surface where organic films can accumulate, and from deeper in your aquarium where free-floating debris can be captured. Also allows the filter to continue effective operation even if one of the intakes becomes obstructed by larger debris.
Water Flow Regulator - the versatile SuperClean features a fully adjustable flow rate. The top-mounted flow control dial allows you to fine-tune the filter's output to suit the unique needs of your aquarium and its inhabitants.
Quiet, Leak-Free Design - the SuperClean's powerful motor is deliberately housed inside the filter instead of being attached to its exterior and sealed with an o-ring. This purposeful design drastically reduces filter noise, while preventing troublesome leaks.
User-Friendly Media Caddy - the SuperClean includes an easy-to-use biological media caddy equipped with highly porous ceramic rings. Designed for flexibility and superior water flow, it promotes optimal growth of beneficial bacteria for a healthier aquarium. Routine maintenance is also a breeze! Additional ceramic rings can be added, or media can be upgraded to Bio-Chem Stars (sold separately).
Crystal Bio-Chem Zorb Cartridge - the SuperClean includes a densely-filled Crystal Bio-Chem Zorb cartridge. A unique blend of activated carbon and special adsorption resins, it is scientifically proven to effectively remove organic pollutants including discoloration, odors, heavy metals, and toxic gases.
Cartridge Change Reminder - adjustable month and day calendar wheels on the filter lid allow you keep track of the last time you changed the SuperClean's filter cartridge. Ensures that media is replaced at the appropriate times to maintain optimal filtration.
