MarinePure BioFilter Media Fresh Gems are suited for freshwater aquariums, and offers high performance biofilter media. The unique structure of the pod allows for randomized water current in and around it, for better water and media contact. Gems are incredibly versatile, and can be placed nearly anywhere in the tank including under water, in the sump, inside back chambers, inside overflows, canister filters, hang on back filters or any place that has a regular and decent amount of flow around and over the gems. It is recommended to place the gems after the mechanical filtration as this will help keep larger pieces of debris and detritus from clogging the exterior pores. Includes mesh bag.
