Calcium is very important in a reef aquarium. Corals use it to create their calcium carbonate skeletons, and it is also important for snails, hard tube worms, and clams. Finally, it ensures the healthy growth of purple, pink, and green calcareous algae. If calcium levels are not maintained at adequate levels, reef inhabitants can become stressed and ultimately die.

This laboratory tested, pharmaceutical-grade Calcium Chloride (CaCl 2) from SR Enterprises is ideal for raising Calcium levels in marine reef aquariums. It completely and easily dissolves in purified water, and is ammonia and phosphate free. This 2.2 lb package makes approximately 2 gallons of calcium supplement.

Recommended Dosage: An ideal calcium level range is 380 - 450 ppm. Dose as required. For best results, slow-drip Calcium Chloride into your aquarium's sump.
