SR Aquaristik Kalkwasser (Calcium Hydroxide)

Used for many years in Germany, Kalkwasser was one of the first supplements used to add calcium to reef aquariums. Calcium is very important in a reef aquarium. Corals use it to create their calcium carbonate skeletons, and it is also important for snails, hard tube worms, and clams. Finally, it ensures the healthy growth of purple, pink, and green calcareous algae. If calcium levels are not maintained at adequate levels, reef inhabitants can become stressed and ultimately die.

This laboratory tested, pharmaceutical-grade Kalkwasser (Calcium Hydroxide) is ideal for use as a calcium and pH booster in saltwater reef aquariums. Ammonia and phosphate free. This 2.2 lb package makes approximately 25 gallons of high quality calcium supplement.

Recommended Dosage: Recommended calcium range is 380 - 450 ppm, and recommended pH level is 8.1 - 8.3. Dose as required. For best results, drip Kalkwasser slowly into the sump of your aquarium. Never add unmixed powder of residual Calcium Hydroxide into your aquarium. Monitor your pH level closely when dosing Kalkwasser, as it can rapidly raise pH values.
